This 70mm diameter embossed aluminium tin carries the Meltonian Man logo on the lid and description on the base. It dates certainly from after 1917 and probably originates in the 1920s or 30s.

This 55mm diameter “Dumpy jar” of Meltonian Cream has a blue paper label around it printed in gold and black. It carries instructions in English as well as French and Italian as well as the price of 6d. An advert of 1925 (when the company was E. Brown & Son Ltd) shows the price of the dumpy jar to be 9d so by the time the company was Meltonian Ltd the price had dropped by 50%. And yet a 1950 advert shows the price to back up to 9d. There is no indication on the jar of the colour of the contents

This 55mm diameter “Dumpy jar” of Meltonian Cream has a blue and white paper label affixed and dates to 1952 – 1957. The contents are still usable although the constituent parts are separating out. The inside of the screw-on lid has a foiled cork seal, no doubt contributing to its longevity.
